Washing of the head - Lave tèt

The washing of the head in Haitian vodou "Lave Tet" is the cleansing, fortifying and at the end of the day baptism of one's head. The head which is the "seat of the soul" for us human, which serves as a vessel for the all important Met Tet and the other spirits that walk with a particular person. In some non-asson lineage, the Lave Tet is the initiation into the house and commits the person to that house.
